NETWORKING
Modern networks for secure workplaces, collaboration and AI
Reliable networks are the foundation of great experiences
Modern work depends on the network. Great meetings, clear calls, cloud apps, smart buildings, frontline devices and AI all need secure, reliable connectivity. Generation-e assesses, designs, deploys and manages modern wired, wireless, WAN and secure access networks across Australia and New Zealand, with Cisco and Aruba capability and a practical focus on user experience.
At Generation-e, networking is the foundation for outstanding digital experiences. We help organisations modernise campus networks, Wi-Fi, switching, SD-WAN, secure access, segmentation, network access control, guest and BYOD access, IoT connectivity, voice readiness and managed network operations. Our partnerships with Cisco and Aruba Networks give customers strong choices across enterprise switching, wireless, secure access, observability and lifecycle support. The result is a network designed for the way people now work: cloud-first, mobile, secure, collaborative and AI-enabled.

The problems we solve
Modern networks are under pressure from every direction. Teams Rooms, video, Microsoft Phone, cloud contact centre, Copilot, IoT sensors, smart buildings, visitor systems, security cameras and frontline devices all compete for secure and reliable access. Hybrid work also means users expect the same experience from the office, home, branches and shared sites. When the network is not designed for this reality, meetings freeze, calls drop, apps feel slow, devices fall out of compliance and security teams lose visibility. The issue is rarely only bandwidth. It is usually a mix of Wi-Fi design, switching, PoE, cabling, QoS, segmentation, identity, policy, WAN performance, cloud access and operational monitoring.
How we help
We treat the network as a connected platform, not a separate infrastructure stream. We assess current state, user experience, site readiness, application demand, security posture and supportability. We then design and deploy wired, wireless, WAN and secure access services that support the workloads that matter: Teams Rooms, Microsoft Phone, cloud contact centre, IoT, smart building platforms, Microsoft 365, Copilot and AI-enabled work. We apply QoS for voice and video, segment devices and traffic, align access to identity and device posture, and provide monitoring, service reviews and lifecycle planning through M-Serv. Because we also deliver the rooms, calling, workplace platforms and communications services that sit on the network, we tune the whole stack to perform together.
Outcomes you can expect
- Networks proven ready for Teams Rooms, voice, video, cloud contact centre, IoT, smart buildings and AI before you deploy.
- Fast, dependable Wi-Fi for high-density spaces, modern devices and mobile work, including Wi-Fi 6, 6E and 7 where it fits.
- Reliable voice and video through end-to-end QoS, traffic prioritisation and tested internet and WAN paths.
- Better security through segmentation, network access control, guest access, device policy and secure access aligned to Zero Trust principles.
- More resilient branch and cloud connectivity through SD-WAN, SASE-aligned design and application-aware routing.
- Clearer operations through monitoring, telemetry, alerting, reporting and lifecycle management.
- One accountable partner across the room, the call, the endpoint, the smart building platform and the network.
Solution sets
- Network readiness assessments: structured assessment of bandwidth, latency, jitter, packet loss, QoS, Wi-Fi coverage, switching, PoE, cabling, internet, firewall and security against Teams Rooms, Microsoft Phone, contact centre, smart building and cloud requirements.
- Modern Wi-Fi design: predictive and on-site wireless design for Wi-Fi 6, 6E and 7, including coverage, density, roaming, 6 GHz planning, guest access, mobile devices and high-use collaboration spaces.
- Enterprise switching, PoE and cabling: access, distribution and core switching designed for multi-gig access, resilient uplinks, PoE budgets, Teams Rooms, access points, cameras, sensors, room panels and smart workplace devices.
- QoS for voice, video and collaboration: end-to-end quality of service so Teams Rooms, Microsoft Phone, contact centre and video traffic are prioritised and protected across LAN, WAN and internet paths.
- Segmentation and secure access: role-based segmentation for corporate, guest, IoT, AV, building systems, security cameras and voice devices, with access aligned to identity, device posture and policy.
- Network access control and BYOD: controlled onboarding for employees, guests, contractors, mobile devices and unmanaged endpoints, with the right access for each user and device type.
- SD-WAN and branch connectivity: application-aware connectivity across branches, sites and cloud services, with resilience, path selection and better performance for Microsoft 365, Teams, voice and business applications.
- SASE and secure internet access: network and security architecture that supports cloud-first work, remote users, direct internet access, zero trust access and consistent policy wherever people work.
- IoT and smart building network foundations: secure connectivity for sensors, occupancy systems, room booking, access control, digital signage, environmental devices, cameras and building integrations.
- Observability and managed operations: monitoring, telemetry, alerting, reporting, service reviews and lifecycle planning through M-Serv, with remote analytics and on-site coverage across A/NZ.
- Cisco and Aruba networking: enterprise switching, wireless, secure access and network management from leading vendor ecosystems, selected to fit the environment rather than forced into one pattern.
- Foundation for AI and collaboration: network architecture engineered for the Teams Rooms, voice, contact centre, smart workplace and AI workloads we also deliver, so the whole stack performs as one.
Frequently asked questions
Why go to a collaboration partner for networking? Because the network exists to carry your meetings, calls and AI. We deliver Teams Rooms, calling and workplace technology as well as the network, so we tune infrastructure for the exact workloads it runs, and there’s one partner accountable when something goes wrong.
What does a network readiness assessment cover? Bandwidth, latency, jitter, packet loss, QoS, Wi-Fi coverage and density, switching, PoE, cabling, firewall policy, internet, WAN, segmentation, guest access, IoT devices and security posture. We assess the network against the real workloads it must support, including Teams Rooms, Microsoft Phone, contact centre, Microsoft 365 and cloud applications.
Do you only work with Cisco? No. Cisco is a key accredited partner and a strong fit for many enterprise environments. We also work with Aruba Networks where it better fits the customer environment, management model or lifecycle strategy. We assess what you have and recommend the best path rather than forcing a rip-and-replace.
Can you fix Wi-Fi problems in our meeting rooms and offices? Yes. We survey coverage, density, interference, roaming, 6 GHz readiness, access point placement, switching, PoE and cabling. We then design Wi-Fi 6, 6E or 7 where it fits, with the wired network, power and uplinks needed to support it properly.
How do you keep voice, video and cloud apps reliable on a busy network? We use end-to-end QoS, traffic prioritisation, segmentation, tested internet and WAN paths, SD-WAN where useful, and monitoring to identify issues early. The goal is simple: protect the real-time traffic that users notice first.
What modern network technologies should we consider? The right mix may include Wi-Fi 6E or Wi-Fi 7, multi-gig switching, PoE planning, SD-WAN, SASE, zero trust access, network access control, segmentation, guest and BYOD access, observability, IoT network design, smart building integration and managed operations. We prioritise based on risk, user experience, business need and lifecycle timing.
Can you manage the network for us ongoing? Yes. M-Serv provides 24×7, ITIL-aligned monitoring and management on ServiceNow, with remote analytics, service reporting, vendor escalation and on-site support across A/NZ, in tiers from Foundation to Premier.
